About Dr. Uzhansky
Dr. Shlomo Uzhansky, LCSW, LCADC, DSW was born in Kiev, Ukraine, and now lives with his family in Jackson, New Jersey. After receiving smicha from Beth Medrash Govoah, he went on to found the Staten Island Hebrew Academy—an outreach day school that continues to inspire children from marginally affiliated Jewish homes with a deep love for Torah and the Jewish people.
Dr. Uzhansky holds a Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) from Long Island University and maintains clinical licenses in both New Jersey and New York. He is also licensed in New Jersey as a Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC).
He trained under Mordechai Weinberger, LCSW, of The Serenity Center and brings a broad, integrative clinical approach to his work. Dr. Uzhansky is proficient in CBT, DBT, and IFS, and incorporates select holistic and emerging methodologies to support meaningful, lasting change.
Central to his practice is the integration of Torah values and perspective alongside evidence-based clinical care. He views emotional healing and personal growth through both a professional therapeutic lens and a Torah framework, helping clients reconnect with their inherent worth, purpose, and inner strength. His work emphasizes responsibility, resilience, compassion, and spiritual alignment—guiding individuals and families toward clarity, stability, and wholeness.
